December 12, 2014, Longkou Hydropower Station was accepted by the Ministry of Water Resources. Du Leigong, deputy general manager and chief engineer of BIDR, attended the acceptance conference.
The project is located at the ending part of Tuolong-Longkou Reach on the nothern branch of Yellow River, in Hequ County, Shanxi Province. It is intended to serve two purposes: power generation, and re-regulation of peak discharge released from the upstream Wanjiazhai Water Control Project. The project has a total installed capacity of 100MW×4+20MW=420MW.
The project was commenced in 2006 and completed in 2010.
